MES 30 temp variance

First smoke on my new MES 30 inch gen 1 and I am seeing a 30 degree temp difference from my Controller and my Taylor thermometer gauge.Doing 2 racks of Babybacks and my built in meat thermometer and the Taylor are reading the same and I did a boiling water test on the Taylor and it was spot on.Seems like the norm for controller to be somewhat off temp.Looking forward to finished product.Lou

This help give you some insight as to whats actually happening, and Dave did some mods to correct it (a light dimmer control...makes burner run more steady at lower power to reduce temp swings)...there other mods here as well, if you want to go farther:
