Mailbox - Galvanized ? ? or Aluminum

So in looking for a Mailbox, galvanized is less expensive than AL by around $30 more, if you can find one.

I've read all about the Galv + heat thing.

I think the Galv is fine, but asking for your thoughts.

Would you guys just stick w the Galv, or pay the higher cost  for Aluminum?   

Please chime in which one you'd choose to buy, assuming that $30 upcharge.                   Marc

Galvanized for the mailbox is fine.  Just make sure you do the initial lighting of the tube or tray outside of the box to prevent excess heating.  Once the tray/tube it lit and smoking well, stick it in the box and smoke on!  

Also, if using a tray, do like Dave Omak did and put some legs on it.  If using a tube, muffler clamps work great for legs.  Helps with air flow and keeps the heat up off the bottom of the box if you're concerned.

Yes, galvanized is fine in your smoker in places that will not come in contact with the food - which this will not.

Folks, I'm looking for help here.

I DO personally, myself, for our home,  believe that Galv is fine for the Mailbox.

BUT, not everyone feels that way.

Some prefer Beef, others prefer Pork.

SO...... I'm asking what OTHERS think.

What YOU feel comfortable with ---- for YOUR Family?

NOT the Science, BUT simply your short---- one word answer---- opinion on what YOU would choose is what I'm looking for.

IF you were going to do a new "Mailbox" mod, WOULD you pay $30 EXTRA for AL, ----YES, or NO.

Please help me out here, Galv. ....OR   non Galv.  (AL or Stainless)
