I bought one of those small smokers at home depot and while the sausages are coming out OK, it's wayyyyyyyy to small for my needs.

I crave a smoker that my family had in Europe.  It was a built in brick smoker that could hot or cold smoke.  I'm not about to build anything into my house, but I would like to get a large smoker where I could smoke for about 4 families at a time, preferably in one batch.   Say few slabs of bacon, few hams and maybe 100lbs of sausage.  Any ideas if there's such a  beast for sale like that or would that only be a custom projects?  Links with recommendations would be great

Thanks

den, afternoon....... There's lots of info on this site.....    At the top of the page is a search bar......  type in what you are looking for and hit search....  Peruse the info, find a design, let us know if you are building or buying....

Please take a moment and stop into " /Roll Call/   " and introduce yourself and get a proper welcome from our members.... Also, if you would note your location in your profile, it will help in the future when answering questions about smokin'...   elevation, humidity etc....

We're glad you stopped in and joined our group...    Enjoy the long smokey ride....     Dave

Welcome to the forum.

There are lots of different pits and smoke houses in use on this site. You probably have to build one or spend a lot of $$ if you want one to cook all that in one load. Personally I would go with a smoker you are going to use for your everyday cooking first, then when you get a better feel for how you want to use it you can build a bigger one (or buy it).

Welcome!  Have you ever thought of building your own?  If not, Lowes carries a small trailer mounted smoker that fits what you describe as your needs.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.  Nice to know you guys are a friendly community.  I thought of building my own but I may move in 1-2 years so something that I can take with me would be better.   This is my current smoker and it does the job.  I'd like to get something maybe 4 times as large ideally.  Are there any ready made units like that?  I set up a budget of about $1000-1200 for a unit if I could find one.
