Wow, Lee, you have someone looking out for you. My family's house burnt to the ground when I was twelve, and although everyone came out alive, I'll never forget a single moment of that experience. Glad to hear everyone is OK, and the house and garage are still there.

Thank God you and the family are ok, that was a close call my friend. I think I'm going to plug my dehydrater near a smoke alarm to be on a safer side. May luck remain on your side.

Thank goodness it was not worse. Glad you and yours are OK. I think the hard wire is a good idea. These things just kinda sneak up on a guy!

wow..that is scary ! glad all is well tho..besides all the cleaning

The Lord was definitely with you and your family. I dont think I could be laughing so soon. What else can you do though. Looks like a lot of hard work on the clean up. To bad we all dont live closer so we could help!

Thanks, for all the kind words. One thing I also discovered is; I need arch supports. It was alot of work, but looks pretty good now. After cleaning I repainted, insulated and covered the studded walls with osb.

thank goodness your not typing this from a hotel room on a new computer with pictures of the charred remains of your home. Sounds like you got it all buttoned up now and maybe even got a procrastinated project done.
