I found the sauce to be kind of dissapointing, does anyone have some modifications/substitutes?
1. I use honey instead of Molassas.
2. I take out a little of the heat. My family and friends like it a little sweeter.
The sauce, as well as the rub, is very user friendly. The basic recipe can be tweaked to suit your personal taste. Give some personal tricks a try. I'm sure you will come up with something.

Thanks, I just made a second batch using honey and I added about a tsp. of tamarinde. Amazing sauce, definitely worth the money.
Best part is, now it's your own recipe!
I have found that Jeff's sauce has to sit a day or two to let the flavors reach their full potential.. IMHO it is great as is.. Like Joe and Al said tweet it alittle and make it yours.
I have found you can drink it right after making it ...just kidding I love the sauce and have mixed it with Apple , Pineapple juice and my favorite Sweet Red Wine !!!!
I use honey and molasses. I add worcestershire powder. Even before tinkering, family and friends say it's the best they've tasted.
I found simmering it a little longer helped with the ketchup tast. I add apple juice to thin it so it can cook longer. Also I add some apple cider vinger along with some other spices I like. Like Lemans said time is its friend. I really enjoy the sauce. Went to one of my favorite BBQ joins where I love their sauce and now found I like mine better. Like Al said now it's your sauce. Make it what you like.
sounds like to me its a very user friendly, lots of ways to tweek it to your likings
I added a little bit of pureed peaches to it for a nice variation, but i like it the way it is as well.
It is very user friendly. With some honey, it makes a great glaze. With apple juice, it becomes a wonderful braise. Jeff's recipe is the basis for many good changes that can result in an awesome taste for anything.
