  1. Hello smokers!

New here to the forums and your group, thought it could be very beneficial to meet local smokers in the area. I'm from south central pa.

My first question is, I'm located around a ton of apple orchards... has anyone ever asked to buy wood from them or know a good stepping stone to do so

Anyways I look forward to learning from you all and if I have anything to share, would be more than happy to do so

    Welcome again Beerwagon!!

When I used to use actual wood, I'd go to the orchards in Fall, after they'd trim their trees. The one sold big boxes full for $20, and Shopping carts full for $10.

I would go to the orchards and see if they have any laying around, if not maybe you can leave your number & they can call you after they trim.

    PA is loaded with orchards.

  3. Thanks bear

I'm going to have to give this a whirl. I prefer hickory lately but with the abundance of orchards I'm thinkin why not capitalize on the fruit woods
