First Prime Rib

    Trying my first Prime Rib on my GMG DB. Had problems with the grill as you could not set the required temperature on it, but Darren from Americanbbq.co.uk set a replacement control board out, Fitted board and all seems good.

    Prime Rib,


    Rib marinated in S&P, Worcestershire Sauce, Onion Powder and Garlic Powder.


    Will be going on the grill this afternoon, looking at making a Chicken Fatty, and possibly putting some wings on!

    Thanks David, Went on the grill about 30 minutes ago.


    Going to put this Italian Fatty on in about 1 Hour,


    It s made with Bacon, Chicken Mince flavoured with S&P, Oregano, Garlic Powder and Onion Powder.

    Then inside, Roasted Peppers, Sun Dried Tomatoes with Oregano on top.

    Got wings marinating now with Jeff's Rub,


    They will go on for the last two hours!

    Wings, Italian Fatty & Prime Ribe, should be ready for 18.00 (BMT)

    Just a side note, fitted new controller to the GMG JB, monitoring the temperature with a four probe iGrill, can not believe the GMG controller set at 88'C, iGrill probe right side reading 112'C, other reading is Italian Fatty.


    right side 94'C, other reading is Prime Rib, about time to remove and foil!


    These are the iGrill images, compared with the GMG controller, but unfortunately, when you try to photo the iGrill it flashes on the screen so can not get a clear shot of the readings,

    Food probe is spot on with iGrill!

    First Prime Rib? nice but too much fat for my liking:icon_cry:

    The Italian Fatty, cheap as anything to make, Fantastic :yahoo:

    Wings, dusted with Jeff's Rub, Juicy & Tender.

    Sitting back now with a beer enjoying late summer sun!

    Too much fat??  Mrs Bear used to trim some of her's off for me.

    Now I just eat my own & throw her extra fat out in the yard for the critters.

Hello Steve.  I don't think anyone could have done better.  Looks GREAT!!  I'm with Bear on the fat, I chose the fattiest pieces for myself.  And then grab some from the Missus.  But I'm still working on my first heart attack.  [​IMG]   High blood pressure AND gout.  Doctor told me to cut back on fatty foods and salt, YEAH RIGHT!  I inivited her over for BBQ and a beer!  Keep Smokin!
