So I went camping for the last 6 days and while I was out I figured I would try something in my dutch oven. I have never used it before other than seasoning it and once for a cobbler. So I got a nice bone in pork shoulder and rubbed it down (forgot to make a rub before I left so I had to buy one) and let it sit over night. After heating the cookery up I put the shoulder in to brown. I know what you are thinking but that is not going to fit in that dutch oven. Yeah your right it did not. I had to de-bone it and cut it up a bit and all but a little bit fit in. I covered it with a beer and put the lid on. we were going to be gone so I put some coal all around the bottom as well. Just over five hours later. I could hardly get it out as it just fell apart. I wasn't sure what to do with all of the juices so in went about 8 spuds (cut up) and a onion (also cut up). one hour nap later and it was time to eat. Everyone really enjoyed the meal (even the kids) so I will be trying something different on the next camping trip. Thanks for looking.
