Lol... $500 was just short of what it cost to ship this from Texas to Florida. This is the response to the traeger timberline sheet metal monstrosity that's $4k. And it does both pellets and sticks for less money.
Johnson Smokers did an amazing job with this creation! Best of both worlds when you want to sit back and relax and let the pellets do the thinking or if you want to do splits for that unbeatable authentic BBQ flavor. It's up to you! Also can be used as a charcoal grill with the charcoal tray...
ok they're made! i'll let you know how they come out. Man these things are a lot of work to make, i hope the payoff is worth it. I think the biggest pain was getting the jalepenos carved out and de-seeded!
I agree with phreak! drink, go fishing, smoke some ribs, chase some skirt, and drink more... I'm kinda going through something similar right now as we speak. GF didn't like it that i up'd and moved to the sunshine state. Took it pretty hard, even though she told me she would move down after i...

maybe i'll give that a go this weekend as well. Smoked turkey legs are awesome! i quasi brined some chicken quarters in asian citrus/soy sauce/marinade and after smoking, while they were good, came out a bit to salty. Can't hurt to give it another try though.
oh yeah, i throw wood on the weber. I start off with a pretty full charcoal base first and then add chunks through the secret trap door. I wonder what would happen though if i just used straight charcoal and no wood. I don't think it would be called smoking then. probably just cooking haha!
