Hello! I have a question posted under the For New Member section about a good first meat to smoke for a beginner. I have experimented with oven "smoked" meats and indirect smoking on my gas grill, but now am stepping in the world of charcoal smoking. I am really excited because I love BBQ.

Hope to learn a lot from you all and maybe have some input my self :)

A pork butt is very forgiving and easy for you to get used to keeping your smoker at proper temp.

Welcome to the board! Many here recommend chicken parts because they're cheap and quick and easy for learning.

Welcome to another Cincinnati Smoker! Where in Cincinnati are you? I second the pork butt recommendation for a first smoke. Very forgiving and lots of practice due to the long smoke.
