Upstate NY
Hey guys Erich here from upstate NY. Got an electric smoker for Father's day. Waiting to fire it up Saturday for my son's birthday. I'm looking to start small maybe chicken legs or quarters. Any one got any pointers for a rookie?

Erich, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here with the new Father's Day smoker.  Chicken is a good first choice.  Use the max temp allowed, which is 275F I believe.

Post pics!

Have fun at the birthday party!

Welcome Erich!  I started this past weekend with whole fryers, around 5lbs each, and they were delicious, and that was my first big cook beyond a few burgers to get a feel for my new toy.  A little light reading here, is worth it's weight in gold.
