Is it normal for my GMG Ledge to make this sound on startup ?

It's been doing so since I bought it new, almost exactly a year ago.. It's also prone to making soot. More so lately.. Am starting to wonder if there has always been an issue with the fan or something.. ?

That's not normal for sure. Not sure if it's the fan or auger.
