I am including pix of a pot belly stove that was in my grandparent's home - I used it in my home for years, but when I moved three years ago I had to store it and really have nowhere to use it. So I have been thinking of converting it into a smoker. Have any of you heard of doing so? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

No suggestions but it looks like a really neat project.

I think that the most logical way to go would be to configure it like a Weber WSM. A couple grates and a plate or water bowl above a coal ring in the bottom of the stove.

Maybe drill and tap hoes for bolts to hang your grates on.

Keep us updated.
