  1. Until the circuit breaker pops, you get electrocuted, or some other phenomenon occurs! Operating an Elec smoker in the rain should be frowned upon at this establishment!

Its Ok, its under the patio with the tractors and other BBQ pits, only get wet commin & goin! besides it still hasn't started raining, if it wasn't so humid it would be sweet football weather.

Da front still looks big and ugly and seems to have slowed down.  Lafayette just starting to get it and BR still in the clear.  Looks like we gonna get it just in time for soggy trick or treaters

Sometimes ya don't want to sit out in the rain, especially since the smoke is out anyway..... Smoke and rain... flys and nats everywhere!

  10. Hello my friend.  If you pack in dry ice and use next day delivery, my half of that brisket should be just fine.  Check is in the mail.  [IMG]

  12. Hello Foam.  I read that thread also.  I guess if my half is going to a good cause I'll have to let you off the hook this time.  [IMG]   Keep posting the good threads my friend.  Keep Smokin!

First off, I only use it in a 20 amp Ground Fault Receptacle that is tested before each use, shock hazard... Zero. It is on a covered balcony but if windy can get wet. I am not advocating setting it in the middle of the yard in a down pour. The MES is kept in like new condition, no frayed, cut or damaged power cord and the 6' 12/3 AWG Extension cord I have to use is rated for outdoor use. You have better chance of getting a Third degree Burn off a Side Fire Box than getting zapped with my setup...JJ

  14. Whew! Good to hear it's out of the wx.

  15. Glad all the proper precautions were made. I've been reading post after post about these things zapping people on the forums lately and wouldn't want someone less prepared to read "it's ok to do this" not knowing the extra steps involved. LOL

I never trust a cooking time, so last night made a chicken and sausage jambayla and pulled the brisket afterwards. First mistake, I pulled at 194 instead of 190 because I was eating. I figured it was foiled with juices, right. Now the rookie mistake, when I foiled I used the good heavy foil and I didn't seal it very good, I won't blame it on the weather. I was just in a hurry and did a sloppy job. Its still Ok, but it diffinately could be moister and more tender.

    Ok, here's the Bear shoot!

Its still good, but I wish I still had the chickens. I'd feed them this Monterey Steak Seasoning I keep forgetting and using!

Thanks for checking it out, learn from my mistake, make sure you get a good wrap on that foil if you use it!

Hope everyone got plenty of candy last night.

Looks good to me!  tough aint bad and a good smokey brisket has lots of uses.  Chilli, pinto beans, etc.  I have even diced it up and put it in jumbalaya.
