Pros - Add food and wood and your done. All stainless steel including the grills unlike typical units. Accessories like the cart make it very easy to access
Cons - slightly higher upfront cost. Heavy if you need to move across lawn.
I've had this smoker for 6+ years and have smoked all types of foods with smoke times of 3-18 hours, its always a pleasure to use.  The insulated construction is great when used during the winter and in windy weather.  Overall the closest I've seen to electric units used commercially. I would highly recommend if you are willing to spend $500+ [IMG]

Glad you like the smoker. I have made a lot of great que from it
I started using the AMNPS and it improved my smokes incredibly

Best Electric around. With a kitchen scales for weighing wood chips and a internal therometer this thing if nearly foolproof. BB's are great....but time has to do with the load so cannot be answered here.

I have the smokin-it model 1 and with the xtras that I bought it was a little over 320$ with shipping and I love it

Yeah, they look very similar in dimensions. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Smokin-It as well, but the prices aren't what they seem to be. At $514.77 for the Smokin Tex free S/H. and $499.00 plus or minus S/H. They both look like qualty smokers.

Looks just like the smokin-it but more expensive
