Adding an offset fire box to a vertical smoker.

Thanks for the great pics and details. I currently have a Master Forge vertical gasser much like your original but heavily modified. a long time ago I posted some pics of the many upgrades I did to it, like adding very heavy (3/16 inch) plates to 3 side internally. Its a have beast. I've...

Converting a Stainless Steel Blanket Warmer into Smoker

How goes your project Ted? I have access to that exact blanket warmer for $100. I have had little luck locating anyone who has done a complete pellet conversion. I'd like to know feasibility and total cost to get it done.

    Yoder YS640 vs RecTec RT-680

I've been comparing the same grills as well as trying to understand which ones do the best job with sticks and summer sausage. We do lots of cured meats in my vertical but I want American made and I want a good reliable pellet grill. Do you do summer sausage? If so, how do you place them. Same...

Pit Boss Vertical smoker 700 Series

How do you like the temp controller? In my current gas vertical smoker, I have added a fine tuned regulator and I feel I have more control than the 25-degree increments available in the Copperhead series. Has it been an issue for you so far?

Pit Boss Vertical smoker 700 Series

Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on the PitBoss CopperHead 700 series smoker. I would really like to upgrade to a larger smoker than what I have and I'd like to stay with a vertical build so I can do larger batches of links and summer sausage. As I investigate Vertical Pellet smokers the...

Snack Sticks - AC LEGG #116 with some additions to crank it up a notch...

Great looking sticks!  Can you explain the "extra ingredients" like the "special binder" and the ECA?  We're prepping to do about 30 lbs of sticks next weekend and I was wondering what these add?  Do they impact curing? texture? taste?  I see you added cure as well. Doesn't AC come with cure...

got a deal on pork butt. Now what?

I got a bunch this weekend as well.  Hy-Vee had them for $.98/lb over the weekend. I bought about 30 lbs worth and froze each of them whole.  They'll be smoked and or used for mix with venison when we start making summer sausage, brats and sticks. Now to find and kill some venison!.
