I need an inexpensive probe that can get into the 200* range. This one has presets but can be reprogrammed. I don't know if that means it can go higher. Anyone have experience with this probe?
I must say I love how evenly the T cooks. These turned out way better than on my stick burner.
I used shredded cheddar and cream cheese for the filling and maple bacon. Tasty!
I did my first pulled pork on the new Traeger Tailgater yesterday. It was 26 degrees outside but she performed nicely.
Yellow mustard then BigBald's rub from Jeff's book with a couple of tweaks. I used brown sugar instead of white and I added a Tbs of Old Bay. This rub is pretty hot. On the...

Would one of those hoop style electric briquette starters work for cold smoking or would it get too hot?
Also I have an offset smoker. Would I use the firebox or put the wood under the cheese?
My first attempt at a weave
Nothing fancy here
Just about done
All done! Took about 2 hours 45 minutes to get to 167 IT

Just wondering if it would work the same as I am trying to be on a "diet".
I am thinking of getting Jeff's book on Amazon. Does it have his rub and sauce recipes in it?
Even if it does not it looks like a great resource for a n00b like me.
I did a pork tenderloin with home made rub. Went 2 1/2 hours. My temp gauge on the smoker was at just under 300 most of the time. At an hour I checked the IT with a probe thermometer. It was only at about 120. I let it go another hour and a half. Due to time constraints I went ahead and plated...
Hello all.
Just cured my Brinkmann offset today and hoping to try a pork tenderloin tomorrow. Brand new to smoking so I went with an inexpensive entry level setup. $129.99 at Home Depot. This model is different from the SNP I think. It just says Offset smoke/grill on the box. I am optimistic...
