    First chicken...

    Crispy crunchy skin.  Not 1 spot of dry meat to be found... Not as much smoke flavor as I hoped for in the breast meat, but all of the dark meat was good and tasty... On a side note, the smoke flavor came through in spades today when we made our chicken breast sandwiches...  Go figure...

    MES MODS and AMNPS: better smoke when MES is OFF

    All I did is turn hook on the closure latch on the left hand side twice counter-clockwise (losen it a little). I got 5 hours out of the expected 5 hours worth of pellets. The airflow around the door was more than enough to keep it smoking.

    Tried my first whole chicken today. The wife put a little bit of something on it as a rub and I put it on the beer can cooker without anything inside. Using the Masterbuilt smokehouse (which I understand is different than the MES series) and an AMNPS using some apple and Jack Daniels.  Smoker...
