    First of all, keep it out of the weather when you aren't using it. Clean it out after every use (fire box & chamber). Modify it with tuning tuning plates and gaskets. They leak heat around the door seams. Don't count on the door thermometer that came with it.

    Go to LoneStarGrillzs in Willis ,TX (north of Conroe ). You will be very impressed with the people and facility. Be prepared to order the best smoker on the market. I have their 60" x24" offset pipe smoker.

    That's what I saying. Pit doesn't need mods. No leaks,even temps, good quality. Once I learn it, I can get the Guru to free up my time more. It's set up already for one.

    Yes, I'm sure. Getting a Guru later but wanted to learn the pit manually before I use the fan. Got tuning plates good. Even temps both ends of this 60" chamber. Used the basket ( minion method ) with some hickory and pecan logs on top. Got 12 hrs out of the charcoal. Added oak to finish the...
