    thanks. it can be a bit temperamental to run but i love pit style. I have been told pit style is a bit more tricky to run.

    here are the pictures of the smoker i built. needs a fresh coat of paint. the grate is split in the middle for easy removal and is made of of 3/4x9 it is flat but similar to expanded metal.  in the pict is a 70 lb 1/2 hog.

    I sure do the shag bark is a lot more spicy I got it from a woods at my buddy's farm. Gota be carefull with that one it will put a lot of kick into the meat. I normally throw in some mesquite to tame it down a bit.

I know its more of a chalenge to use a pit style than one with a fire box but I figured it would be worth it...
