    It is usually closer to 1.5 to 2 hours a lb. 2 6lb butts will cook like one 6lb butt. Worse case scenario is you get done early and you wrap in towels and put in a cooler. They will sit like that for a few hours and be good to go.

    Anyone have a butt stall at 183 degrees? Mine has been at that temp for 2 hours. I calibrated my thermometers and they are good. Do I just need more patience?

    I put my rub on about twelve hours before I plan on putting it on the smoker. Its bbq, so this time put the rub on at one time and next time try another time. Experiment until you find what you like.

    I would do foil packs. Soak the chips in water for about an hr or so.
