Doing my first butt.
Loaded it in the smoker about midnight last night. The MasterBuilt smoker did wonderfully, maintaining an even temp all night pretty much.....right around 255 mostly. It is an 8.75 lb. Boston Butt........so I was planing this:
- hopefully out of the smoker about 1:00pm...
Ok, Finally got over myself and said....."Just do it".
I have a dozen half chickens in my new propane MasterBuilt.
Here is what I did:
Water in pan.
Partially soaked hickory chips in original pan.
Now smoking at roughly 275ish.
Recommendations, suggestions, what should I change?
Have a new MasterBuilt 20050611 - the directions manual are pathetic.
Want to make sure I do it right - what are the important basics to seasoning the smoker before I cook something in it?
Got a Master Built 20050611 as a gift for my birthday last week - very new to this. Have been messing with BBQ for a while now, but smoking my own is an exciting idea. Love the site so far!
So, i got a MasterBuilt 20050611 model as a gift this week. Not even sure where they purchased it yet. The "instruction" manual is great for the safety features and assembly instructions. It has some recommendations about roasting times, and some nice recipes.
What the manual is lousy at is...
