Just did a smoke yesterday and added small handfuls every so often and got good smoke from it, the fist time i smoked with it i added to many chips and got thick smoke so for me lesson learned
Clean it very well, use denatured alcohol or the like and make sure you do not touch the metal with bare hands (oil in your fingers) I would remove all of the wood and anything you don't want blued. Good luck and follow the instructions!
NYsmoker did a pork loin st louis ribs and a fatty, pork loin may have screwed it up don't know ribs good and fatty was very good. Still learning tho (steep learning curve) Will keep at it and figure it out
No problems yet just seasoned it yesterday, going to smoke on it tomarrow so we shall see. It has the larger chip tray so it should be good ie no mods. Good luck
I have the 20070511 model it has a built in meat probe and has an external grease tray, which may be the difference between it and other models, also could be wattages for some to.
I put aluminum foil along the back, basically measured the length and folded it up and formed it to the edge on the bottom, the gap is closed and heat retention is better i will at some time do the sides at some point. Redneck for sure but it works for know.
