Bear I am putting it to the left of the chip burner....I was thinking you were using yours placed inside the foil tray, and then into the smoker....unless you just placed it in the tray to light it.....I have to analyze everything, lol!

I guess I have been goofing too then. I really do prefer a very heavy smoke flavor, but I've been filling the MES 30 chip hopper full twice during each smoke. How many pellets should I be using to still get a heavy taste and do it right? I thought you used the same amount of pellets as chips...

I set the thermometer on my MES 30 to *225 with a plan to smoke a fatty for about 3 hours...This is a brand new smoker that has only been used twice before day. I pre-heated for 30 minutes, and noticed temps were up to *240 inside. I double checked my settings: yes, I had set it for *225. Dumped...
