Any Ideas how to make an air tight little door?

Thanks for your thoughts, as of now I do have a baffle in place that will block the fire box out if needed, now I just need to figure out a way to circulate the air from the bottom to the top without including the fire box in this loop.

Any Ideas how to make an air tight little door?

So my reverse flow is about 85% done, it still needs a stainless counter top and a few things like a lantern holder and a refelective shield around the bbq.  But here it is as of yet, Ive smoked on it about 50 times now and it comes out superb. One thing I plan to do is to add an electric...

--(UPDATED 3/20/11) Reverse Flow Smoker on Trailer- 80 gallon tank, NOW WITH PICS (beginings)

Tom37- Yea one of those wireless thermometers would definatly come in handy,. I dont have a stoker but I do use my air pump for an airbed to get the fire blazing. I guess the stoker automaticly kicks the fan on is that right.

Hey Tom37 thanks for the tip on the insulation, I live in Mesa AZ so Im not to worried about the temps around where I live, However I will be taking this cooker camping where it will definatly get below the mid 50's at night, and I usually smoke over night.  Is it a pretty big problem if you...

Hey thanks to all that gave my cooker a look,  Tom Im using 6011 welding rod and it does leave alot of smoke residue so I think that car wash Idea is probably what Ill do to get it washed out after I grind out all the berries etc. Your probably right, that it doesn't matter much anyway but I...

Adding a gas burner to the Firebox

Im not sure if the flame would go out the exaust, The reason I had it set up to exaust to the out side was so if there were ever a gas leak it wouldn't fill the cooker full of propane. it would just go out into the air. But I wonder if Im over thinking it, perhaps just having the torch you...
