difenitly look into the UDS (ugly drum smoker). its my first smoker i built it and it works awsome. only had it for a few mounths and cant stop using it. if i would have known about the uds and this site a few years ago i would probably be overweight by now.

im new to smokin but relaxing is the key. take two readings one in the center and one on the side and base everything on those readings. keep it simple. that is what i did and it works great

the reason i ask is you can probably find someone on here that has already made one for your type smoker and could give you some ideas. all i can say is make sure you have some space under the basket.

i sprayed pam on the inside of the drum filed basket with abought 10lbs of charcoal and cooked a fattie, took it out. then let it continue to burn till all heat was gon. abought 9 hrs later. i did it this way just to see how the smoker would run and for how long.

smoked two fatties last night stayed on a little long due to beer consumption but they were good.
looks good man. when i cut the bottom out of my drum i left a 1 inch lip to hold my top grate,its free and works total build cost 12 dollars. but it probably took me longer to gather parts. lol
