Was at Dillons here on Friday and they were asking $70 for a 12lb brisket........I thought that was insane but after reading this thread some of the prices mentioned is truly insane. Usually I do not like getting beef at Walmart but if I can get it for under $3 lb and then pick through them I...
Smokin-it #3
Mine just arrived today, unboxed, put the wheels on, cleaned out the inside, loaded it with mesquite wood and fired it up. It came with a few blocks of wood but I thought the mesquite I have that I very very rarely use would be great to season it. Smoke started supper quick and I...
I purchased a SI #3, just waiting for it's arrival. Almost did not because the shipping was so stupidly expensive ($112.00) but I kept telling myself.......buy once, cry once
I will probably do a couple of video reviews of it once it arrives and plan to be as objective as i can......maybe help...

Well its just not a functioning unit. I am seriously just thinking of upgrading as I just should got more life out of the MES I believe. Looking at a SI or Tex and save the MES for pure cold smoking.....Buy once, cry once mind set right now.
SO mine was trip the GFCI also. I took the panel off and looked it all over real good. Only found one of the contacts to the heating element rusty. I cleaned it and plugged back up still popping the GFCI. I wonder if the electronic control panel on top of my Gen 1 is bad? No idea what the issue...
So I read a bit on the later model gen 2's and specifically why is it thought that these are Not worth purchasing? Is it more speculation based or are the owners really complaining about them as they more than anyone would be the SME on these.
I read where the drip pan is slanted and some other...
Had this smoker for 4 years of heavy use with an AmazN tray. Used wood for years before buying this MES. Well..... I have had a Big Chief for 25 years, I still use from time to time doing fish and jerky but I Been very happy with the MES for the ease of use. Anyway......It's a 30" Gen 1 digital...
