I use a flavor injector to inject the sauce (usually clarified butter and hot sauce) into the wing prior to smoking. I get the grill as hot as possible and put the wings onto it after removing from the smoker to crisp the skin.
I installed the retro kit. It wasn't the same size (height) as the original part so the heating element had to be bent to accommodate. MES customer support told me it wouldn't hurt the element.

UPDATE: Contacted the customer support center and they assured me that bending the heating element would not hurt it. Installed the retro kit and it is seasoning now.

I'm trying to get a retro kit. Emailed MBTechGuy and Masterbuilt a few times and haven't received a reply. It's extremely difficult to call them during the week with my work schedule. How do I go about getting a retro kit without taking a day off of work to call them?

I made a large batch of Dutch's baked beans and added a pound or two of smoked pulled pork. I always make extra brisket, sausage, etc and freeze it in foodsaver sealed bags. Some of that ends up joining the bacon from the original recipe with the beans. People destroyed those beans. They are...
You don't need a window (that turns black with use) or an inside light. Check out the price difference ($159 at walmart). It's the same smoker without the window, light, and temp probe. You can get an external meat thermometer (Run the probe through the vent in the top of the smoker) for...
