Backyard 20 gallon RF. 1st build - Advice on too LARGE of Firebox

Too large of a firebox and you'll have a hard time managing your temps - too much of your energy will be used in the firebox itself. I would cut it shorter and weld a flat piece of steel on the end and cut the door out of that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

    charcoal vs wood

That's how I cook. Depending on the wood quality and cook time though I do have to supplement with charcoal periodically to keep a good bed of coals. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

Our season ended and we pulled the spiles Tuesday. I have about 77-78 gallons ready to be filtered for the season.

How thick does the baffle plate need to be?

That's pretty thin. You want it to radiate heat and help even out the temps and 1/8" isn't much of a heat sink...1/4" is pretty standard - some guys go heavier but it takes more fuel to warm it up.

    120 gallon smoker build

Basically - compare the different shapes in the chart to yours. Mine was Standard Flange. I see a lot of propane tanks that look to be Hemispherical.

Home made maple syrup.... MONEY 2-26-16

We just tapped this weekend...the most we've tapped ever with 258 total. It's the first year without my father-in-law who was the knower of all things when it came to deciding what was and wasn't a maple tree. We may have an elm or oak or ash or God knows what tapped be we sure did try hard.

    In need of some advice

I made my own trailer for my rig...it's not as big, but it is a 30" barrel. You can custom order any width axle you want, so no worries about getting one too wide. Pick your rims out first (if you want to use take offs from the junk yard) and order to match the offset. I didn't figure the...

I started with milk jugs too - I used mechanics wire to hold them on. The issue we had was they weren't always big enough if you had a good day. Your finished product looks great!

    WOOD AND WATERPAN

As for a water pan...I don't think it's necessary with a reverse flow. Let the juices drip on the the baffle plate and you're good to go...
