    Charcoal Type?

I use Kingsford blue bag as well. Typically stock up for the year when it's on sale. The flood soaked 300# and it got shoveled into waste containers. Found some Royal Oak lump on sale using that right now. I think I still prefer the Kingsford.

    UDS Plans Needed

Nice build. Personally tho I would have mounted the thermometer between the top 2 racks but I guess where you cook most is the ideal place. I get the rustic look with the stick, just looks odd to me. I can't decide if it's the contrast or that it sticks out beyond the smoker. You're going to...

    UDS Build

Nice looking UDS. I used magnets over the holes in mine. Typically with the exhaust wide open and 1 1/4" hole wide open for air I can maintain 300 easily. I typically run at 250-275. I love mine. ENJOY!!

Great job! And I love the grill grabbers you made. Hope you don't mind if I steal that idea and make a pair!

Sounds like I need to check out the BBQ Guru! I love getting the most out of the charcoal and wood.

New here. Just finished UDS build.. Lots of pics

Not what I was expecting when I opened this up but a nice smoker. That thing should last a lifetime! Do you like the way it cooks? One of my most favorite things about my UDS is that it is a fuel miser. It appears that your fuel door has a good seal based on the photo with it smoking. If so, you...

Ribs, they are hard to beat on a nice sunny day.

Fantastic job on the ribs! For the first time this weekend I did a rack on the UDS , unwrapped. Still very good but not quite as juicy as the wrapped version. My motto when cooking is I do them like I want to and I hope you enjoy them.
