    Old Smokey modifications

    Thanks for reply, chunks are for my next smoke.  The problem with chips is the different sizes, so the smallest burn up too fast and make it smell ashy or burnt instead of smokey.  That may cure the smoke issue so all I'll need to add is the vent.

    Have an old smokey electric that I love to use, but I'm thinking about adding an adjustable vent on the top opposite the thermometer and cutting a door down at the bottom to add chips when needed.  I'm thinking that putting these in would allow for less steam for slower cooking.
