Church Men's Group BBQ, need suggestions / recipes

Cajun Power Baked Bean Syrup is the easiest thing to make amazing baked beans. One jar to one can of beans. Has all the ingredients you need. This might be a time saver for you so you can focus on the meat.

    Bacon - My Turn

If I had a slicer I'd be curing some right now

    Bacon - My Turn

Is bacon really as easy as it seems? Don't mean to take away from anyone's accomplishments, but it literally seems too good to be true.

    Sweet Italian Sausage Recipe

I may have to breakdown and buy Marianski's book. I'm more of a cliff notes guy though which is why I love this forum :)

Thank you. I've also read somewhere about adding a sweet basil. This must be the secret.

    Sweet Italian Sausage Recipe

Is this a "sweet" italian or a basic italian? I'm looking for the ingredient that makes it sweet. Sugar?

Anyone have a good "sweet" italian recipe? Wife wants me to make her some for spaghetti meat.

    Sausage time again

So you used the same recipe as the Italian for your snack sticks? Only difference is the smoking process, casings...? I haven't seen anyone reduce the heat back down to dry snack sticks. Sounds like a great idea.

Awesome job man. What cheese did you use? Did you leave seeds in jalapeños? What’s the heat level? Looks great.

On the Edge of Trying Sausage Making

I just started by getting the Hakka 7 lb stuffer for a fairly cheap price. Also bought a MES40 electric smoker on sale at Menard's for $225. So far I've bought ground beef/pork from a local butcher until I get a grinder. It's worked very well so far. Super fun hobby.

    First attempt making sausage

I used heavy whipping cream on my initial batch of links and felt like it created too much of a creamy taste. Maybe the dry milk and whipping cream was too much. I think I'll use water next time.

    First attempt making sausage

Good luck! I took my maiden voyage a couple weeks ago and it turned out great. Already planning my next round. Just follow the steps and stay patient and everything will be great. Can't wait to follow along.
