    hey guys thanks for the advice.i've got plywood and other stuff on top and it's working great not sucking up the wood like it used to maybe it just took time to get everything to settle in in seal up. and I'm seeing that thin blue line of smoke gonna be some good eats tonight

That was only the second session after mortaring and there was still a lot of moisture in the blocks and mortar, so most of that white smoke is really steam coming off the sides. the chamber is pretty well sealed, I think.
