I am thinking of purchasing a pellet grill. Which is better, the Louisiana Smoker grill or the traeger? Or is there something better out there for under $1000.00? I would mainly cook brisket, chicken and ribs on it. I own a weber gas grill that is great for hamburgers and such. Just want...
What temp should I using when braising? My chicken was bite size pieces in a bourbon sauce. The suce is supposed to thicken just a little , not a lot. Is there a trick to it?
has anyone ever cooked bourbon chicken in their smoker? My recipe says to braise it until chicken is done. I've done that but my grill was too hot. I'd like someones else's take on what I should try next time. I braised it for an hour and my chicken was tough instead of tender. Any answers out...
Monty-- I tried your recipe tweaking it a little to suit my family's taste. When the meat come of the grill I asked my daughter if she liked it. She said it was ok but then I noticed she coudn't stop eating on it. My son really liked it so...now well see how it is on salad tonight. Sorry...

Just got back from the grocery store and guess what...They didn't carry cooking sherry. I don't frequent liquor stores so my next question is...what would be a close substitute?
say, Monty, your marinade sounds yummy! However, I do have one question? Can you use cooking sherry or does it need to be the regular dry sherry? I want to try this on some chicken breasts for a salad. Will this meat good on salad?
Upright frezeers tend to frost over more than a chest. Why, I don't know.
But as for Kenmore brand, Iv'e always bought national brands until just recently. My stove went out and so we bought what was on sale--a Kenmore! Guess what? It keeps its heat longer than my GE ever did!
I am wanting to learn to smoke all different kinds of meat. I would like to get a traeger but--They are quite spendy. Would someone have a suggestion for somthing that would work similar to a traeger but without that kind of price tag?
