    Help!

Lol...I would post a picture if I knew how to do it! I am severely computer challenged as far as pictures go! It measures 8" x 7" x 1.5". Someone else was kind enough to recommend 1.5-2 hours per pound. Guess I'll start there and see how it goes. Thanks for the quick response. I love those...

    Help!

I bought a tiny brisket, 2.2 pounds. This will be my first attempt at a brisket. Any idea how long it should take? Most of the recipes and reviews I have read are for much, much larger pieces of meat. Any input from our resident pros will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Ohio Group -- Let's go Buckeye State Smokers!

I'm new to smoking meat, but so far, so good. We made Bearcarvers recipe for double smoked ham for Easter and it was outstanding! Looking forward to learning from fellow Buckeyes. I'm in a suburb of Cleveland...I can walk to the lake!

Bear...I tried your recipe on Easter and all I can say is AWESOME!!!!  The ham was beautiful and absolutely delicious!!  I was a little leery about rendering the excess fat in a pan above the ham and letting it "baste"...thought I would have a huge mess to clean up (excuse my newbieness...I...

Thank you. I kind of figured that was the problem since I forgot to open the vent for the first hour or so. I appreciate the input from the more experienced folks, such as yourself. I appreciate it.

    How Many Mes Owners Here?

First time smoker here!  I bought the 30" MES from Amazon.  Tested it with a turkey breast this weekend.  I brined it but did not otherwise season it as I wanted to test just how smoky it would turn out.  Answer: pretty smoky!!!! I used hickory since that was all I had on hand. It was tasty but...

How did you come up with your screen name?

I work in the medical field.  Boneslides is a reflection of what I used to do...orthopedic pathology, creating microscope slides of bone specimens.  Nothing special, but it is unique!!!

Not sure if this the place...

...to ask a real newbie question, so if it isn't, I apologize in advance. I am new, new, new to smoking and want to use my Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker for the first time this weekend.  I want to smoke a turkey breast.  Now for the question...do I put it directly on the rack in the smoker...

    Hello from Ohio!

I'm a definite newbie, never smoked anything before. We had dinner at a chain barbecue joint a few weeks ago. I had some smoked turkey breast that was delicious. I got to thinking, how hard can it be? Went home and did some research, settled on a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and was all...
