Do I leave the thermometer in the meat?

My suggestion is get yourself one of the Maverick digital probes with remote monitoring. Around $70 on Amazon. It gives you two probes so that you can monitor meat temp and box temp. or two meat temps. Works really well and very much affordable. You wont be sorry

Looking for a leave-in digital thermometer

I have two mavericks which means I have 4 probes. Works well for me. I am able to monitor meat temps as well as box temps. I love the fact that I can go in the house and keep tabs on my temps. Well worth the money at around $70 on Amazon.

    Bluetooth thermometer wonderings?

I agree with you Ross77. I have two of the Maverick 732 which gives me a total of 4 probes that I can use to monitor meat temps and/or box temps. Like you I just keep them close to wherever I am and a quick glance once in a while lets me know what is going on. For the money you cant go wrong...

    New Dyna-Glo vertical offset smoker

After reading the last several pages of posts on modifications to the Dyna-Glo offset I decided to post a reply on what I have done and what I still plan to do. First off I have sealed off all leaks as others have done. Also the biggest mod I have made is to insulate the outside of the smoker...
