Hey guys I'm Ryan. I live in Long Beach, Califronia.

Self taught bbqer since I was a young teenager. Love anything meat, and love to bbq.  I have yet to smoke anything, but am getting a new charcoal grill and smoke box, so I look forward to learning some new ways to grill & smoke meats.

Been using propane grills for years, and consider myself a little better than "intermediate."  I cook great steaks and chicken, and currently am learning my way around some great pork spare ribs, and hoping to make some whole chickens, small turkeys, along with tri tip roasts.

I am a very picky eater, but when it comes to beef, pork, and poultry, I'm open to anything. lol

I don't know what else to put, but I just look forward to finding out new recipes, tips & tricks from other members on this site.

Glad to be here and look forward to talking with other Qers :)

Welcome Ryan, Ray here.  Sounds like you've got a solid experience base to build your skills upon.  You'll be a smokin' star in no time!  Happy to have you in the family and look forward to seeing your backyard adventures around the forum.

BTW, we used to live in Los Alamitos a couple decades ago and my kids were born in Long Beach, so very familiar with the area.

Welcome!

Hello Ryan, good evening and welcome to the forum. We'll be waiting for your post and pictures.

Thanks guys, got busy so haven't been on the site since I made my introduction.

Just built my new smoker today, I ended up getting the Lowes Exclusive...Master Forge Dual Door, I read a bunch of posts from people on here who bought it and love it. So decided to go with that, and paid the 25 bucks for a 2 year warranty to cover my ass for the future.

Bought to run it this evening after I spray pam on the interior, and probably going to lay out some bacon on a tray to just test it while the smoker is curing.

I'll be sure to post my dinners....I plan on making a tri tip roast tomorrow for Mothers Day, so should have a post tomorrow :)

Welcome! You will like being able to adjust the height of the heat. I use a silver and wish I had a gold so I had a built in thermometer.
