I just unwrapped and assembled my 22 WSM today and got the 3/4" plugs installed as well as my adapter for the DIgiQ that I had been using on an OKJ for years now. My OKJ was a royal pain in the a**. Some guys might like the constant fire tending and extreme usage of fuel but I couldn't stand it. I found it such a hassle that I slowly but surely started smoking less and less. I was at my cabin over the recent holiday weekend hanging out with my neighbors. We did a smoke of some BB's and SLC's. He has a traeger and an old el cheapo upright. Well I took to the upright and he used his Traeger. The ribs came out great but it left me thinking about how easy it can be to make great food. So I ordered the WSM. I am wishing I did this years ago. For burn in I threw about a half bag in the ring and 15 lit coals (minion). The temp has been a perfect 250 for 8 hours now. I haven't touched a single thing as far as coals. I haven't even opened the side door!! The temp has been so spot on I thought the digiQ was broken. Lol. The maverick 732 confirmed it is spot on. The dome thermo is surprisingly "accurate ish". Tomorrow night I'm throwing on the pork shoulder. I did ABT's tonight for the heck of it. I am so inspired by this smoker that I finally created an account and am no longer just an anonymous info sucking leach. Haha

Edjamakated (name made me laugh) welcome to SMF!   Glad you are here with the new easiest smoker on the planet to use. You have it set up perfectly with the DigiQ.  Glad you are here and letting the WSM flex its smoking muscles to perfection!

Have fun!
