WOW chix thighs

    Man just got done with chicken thighs and they were great. Soaked the in a brine last night for about 6 hours. Then when I got to work at about 12:30am I dumped out the brine and pulled the skin back and sprinkled poultry rub on them then layed the skin back over. Put them in the smoker at about 9:00am with cherry and hickory chunks at 250 degrees. About 11:00 the thermo read 172 so I checked on but it wasnt done yet so I put it up to about 300 till 11:30 then put them on the grill to crisp up the skin. They turned out so much better than I thought, way better than the breast I did a few weeks ago. I will do these again for sure.

    That finishing on the hot grill really does a nice job of crisping them up [​IMG]

    Wish I could take more credit but I just copied what all you guys have been doing, I just really didnt think they would turn out so good. Thanks guys.

    It sure does. The skin tasted like bacon.

    hahhaha! great "picher" bbq bubba! We all do appreciate some good meaty pics. I'm gonna try my hand at Qview this upcoming weekend. I can already smell the smoke...

    I'll try to get around to some Qview one of these days. I did these at work(been here since 12:30am) so didnt have a camera.

    Seriously, you could pull the skin off and use as bacon on a sandwich and was so good.

    I agree, it does taste like bacon.
