port huron mich.
just wondering if any one has used a wood chip smoker box in char griller smokin pro, and if so did they get tbs, soaked or dry chips and where to put box for best results .  thanx for the info.

I used to use a box in my Cookon with some minor success. It is a 4 burner so I lit the outside burner on one side and the box went partially on the bricks above that burner. After too many flare-ups I went to soaking chips then making foil packets and changing them out after about 30 min. The food being on the other end of the grill worked OK not great. Today I would and have used my AMS to add smoke to a cook I am doing with much better results.

Hope this helps

When I first started smoking with my GOSM I used the chip pan for maybe a dozen smokes. Then I tossed it and got a bigger cast iron chip pan and thats all I have ever used since.
