Hi, I need your guys' help. Im totally new to smoking and am looking to build my own smoker to suit me needs. this is a rough design I came up with after looking at some of the wood box builds. I will be using a propane turkey fryer base as my heating element but I also want to be able to cold smoke as well. I want to use a AMNPS and I under stand I have to keep it away from direct heat and make sure it has its own air supply or else the burner will eat the oxygen.

Do you guys think this plan will work? Any tips to help a newb out? I live in Canada so a lot of the different products/prebuilt smokers are not available or hard to get up here.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to SMF

Your plan looks solid to me, for what it's worth. Where in Canada are you from?

Stop by the Smoker Builds forum and post your drawings there for a better chance on getting some advice.

Also, since your new to smoking, sign up for Jeff's 5-day E-Course. It's free and you will learn a ton.

Glad to have you on board!

Thanks for the reply. My bad I thought I posted this in the smoker build forums. I'm in Red Deer Alberta. I just got the e course so I've got some reading to do.
