whole pig pit cook

  1. Hello all, I am buying a pig from a friend to do a whole pig pit cook. Never done this before, looking for tips so I don't screw up 200 pounds of pig. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

    Good luck. Hope it turns out well. 

    I've never done a pit cook. I always do it on a spit. Sorry I can't help more.

    Do you mean a bbq pit or a hole in the ground pit? w/ a lil more info i can probably help you out
