Is anyone using the Thermo wipes from Thermoworks? Are they just alcohol wipes? I usually wipe my Thermapen probe with a paper towel but feel I should do a better job especially when cooking for a crowd.

Also found this Polder dual purpose therm. It is a meat probe thermometer and a smoker temp therm in one unit. I quit using the Mavericks a long time ago. Got tired of wires hanging out everywhere and constantly snagging them when things got busy around the smoker. So I went to using the cheap stand up oven therms for my smoker temps. They are more accurate than you might think.

I usually just use my Thermapen for internal meat temps but I thought this Polder would be handy when doing prime rib when I really need to constantly monitor the temps.

Here is a link to it.

You're fine with a paper towel or napkin with a few dabs of hand sanitizer. The alcohol will evaporate soon after wiping, at room temp. Wipe the probe down with a soapy cloth and then with clear water after use...just a few minutes before use I wipe with sanitizer and air-dry. I have hand sanitizer and paper towels or napkins laying around close to my food prep area, anyway...they're all multipurpose.

Kind of figured they were nothing more than alcohol wipes. I usually have the handwipes around when cooking and have used those in the past as well. Thanks for the replies gents!
