Who invited the new guy?

  1. Hi, my name is Andrew and I live in Davenport Iowa. For the most part it's where I80 meets the Mississippi River. Im a full time student of respiratory therapy (graduate in May '14!). I've only been smoking for about a year now. Done a few racks of ribs with so so results and a couple of briskets that have been disastrous at best. I'm using the ECB with a few modifications. I put the legs on the outside, drilled holes all over the charcoal pan, and made a lid vent. I've skimmed through this site and I can see I'll be spending a lot of time here.

welcome Andrew, a lot of us have and still use the ECB and with the mods they can be a good little smoker. In time you will get to understand it and improve your briskets. one set of my grandparents lived most there life in Davenport,on Kirkwood st. I have been there many times and eaten at the well known joint there which it's name slips my mind now. something shed?
