Am I getting too cheap to make sausage any more? it sure seems like slim Jim casings are going through the roof for 17-19mm collogen casings. I have seen prices from 19.00/25# batch of meat to over a 1.00 per# the best I have found so for is

17mm/46# meat for 31.00 to my door = .67cents a lb just for casing on ebay. Where is everyone else buying their casings?

Cheap collagen casings are just exactly that........ cheap...... B&P have some good casings..... don't go by price, go by quality....

I have bought Walton's and they are very good also.....

Thanks Dave,

If you recommend this company I will add them to my list of Approved suppliers.

I'll be making a 10# batch of sticks tomorrow with my granddaughter..... If Bride lets me have the kitchen.... And I will be using B&P MY MISTAKE>>>>> WALTON'S 21mm mahogany collagen casings.... I bought a 3 pack awhile back and they were very good.... I think I will stick with them....

I have had "lesser quality" casing in hog casings... What a PITA.... having no problems with the 21mm from B&P, there is no reason to look any farther as far as I am concerned.....

I have never made snak sticks, mainly because using lamb can be a pain. Then again I have not used lamb in a few decades.  I should try the collagen, seems much less trouble.

"Sprouts", a local grocery store sells the pre-cleaned and threaded hog casings by the piece.  I think is about $2.50 each and each piece should do #25 so I pick them up as needed and the quality is tops!

I am a huge advocate for us having our own outdoor kitchen, but I will wait until I am some place cooler.
