New guy!Been lurking a little while and finally signed up.Originally from Memphis, moved to Houston a couple of years ago, so you can imagine my inner turmoil (pork butt or brisket...decisions, decisions!!!)39 years old, been working in wholesale food distribution for 15 years.Wife, 2 year old son, dog, cat. Average Joe, I guess you could say.Got a 10 year old Brinkmann SNP that's treated me...OK. Just got serious about the hobby a few years back and am now considering mods or just a complete upgrade. (It was my primary grill for the longest until I really got interested in smoking and got a Weber Silver Kettle to take over those duties.)Mostly done small stuff...ribs and pork loins...getting better each time. Did my first brisket this past July 4th and got high praise from my Texan in-laws, so as you can imagine, that was a proud moment. :-)Probably won't post too much, but just wanted to say "Hello!', and thank the site owners and all the contributors for providing such a valuable source for us weekend warriors.Phillip

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! Would you mind updating your profile to show the other SMF members where you are located?  Might meet some neighbors!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
