I have a OK Joe Highland and I want to use the maverick remote thermometer to keep track of the internal temp of the smoker. There is no where to hang the probe thermometer inside. Anyone ever mod for this or have any ideas? I am new to this smoker and until I get much better at temp control I really want to keep this remote with me to monitor.

Mine came with some little metal clips for the probe that attach to the grates, seems to work just fine.  I drill a 5/16" hole below the vent stack and both probe wires enter there, the transmitter hangs on the tool rack. Usually put one probe in the meat and the other on the grate using the metal clips.

You can increase that hole a little bit and buy a conduit cable connector in the electrical dept. at Lowe's for just a couple of bucks. This allows you to insert the probes and it has a rubber grommet inside to keep smoke from coming out. I have really liked it.
