I am in transition these days.   I am working to meet local Tulsa manufacturing/distribution biz owners/operators and under their challenges. I believe there are more opportunities in that segment than in larger companies in Tulsa.

I am also open to some travel if needed to help folks as an independent or a consultant.

I started work as an engineer on Ford trucks in the late 80's worked in the auto biz for about 20 yrs until being downsized in 2008 so we moved to Tulsa.  I just spent the last 2.5 yrs in aerospace/military supplier of heat exchangers (FAA repair station) but recently the President decided he had to have a 30 yr aviation repair person in my job. (VP/COO)

I am seeing some good things so far, much better than 2-3 years ago.

Here is my Linkedin Profile if you want know more about me or where I have been: http://www.linkedin.com/in/glenhall]http://www.linkedin.com/in/glenhall[/url]

PS - I had quite a few BBQ friends help me in 2008-9 so you never know.   Keep talking to people is what I recommend and stay focused.

After 17 years  working for cooper tire and rubber (plant  closed) and BTW  this plant was non union. I drive a school bus and work in the middle school lunchroom.I now work Monday -friday.5.30 am -5.30 pm...Don't mind saying its really nice being home at nite and weekends and holidays and summer.

I work for the University of Florida. I also work on side projects with my brother like buying junk 4 wheelers and such and fixing them up for sale. We also dabble in older vehicles...current project is an 85 Jeep CJ7 that was a barn find.

I am a retired JourneyMan Lineman. 23 years. Medical retirement, 5 spinal surgeries and some others..

Now I eat pain pills and raise my 4 year old Grand Baby...And fly Hawks and Falcons....

I went into the military in '64 .....they trained me and sent me to Nam for 35 months in '65....Got out in '68. From then until I was 60, I went to far off places no one ever heard of and helped fix problems. At 60 I decided I was too old for that life, so I retired to a life of hunting 4 legged critters and fishing.

Then in June I found this place and 2 good ole boys who have inspired me to try my hand at smoking. < Bearcarver and Meateater>

And now I am hooked <laughs>

I went to the local college fire academy got out worked as a contract industrial firefighter at Boeing Civil Defense facility for two years. Then I decided to take a pay cut and get more EMS experience so I hopped on an ambulance for 4 years, 3.5 of which I rolled with my brother. For the last few months I've been unemployed, I'm burnt out on the ambulance gig and don't really feel like going back to industrial firefighting. Just trying to find a "job" right now but i think i'm put into the over qualified category especially based on some of the questions I've been asked in interviews.

Worked the majority of my life as a heavy truck and construction equipment mechanic.

Retired now. and do part time driving picking up and delivering vehicles for an auto repair shop. Work 3 days a week. The driving job gives me the cash to do my smoking.

I work in the street department for the city of Redlands here in CA.  Coming up on 3 years this December.  I mainly do concrete and asphalt repairs.  I was in the construction industry operating heavy equipment for pipeline till the economy took a shit, then got laid off.  I feel pretty lucky to have this job, I don't know where my girlfriend and I would be without it.  I hope to get into the water department in the near future.

Ever changing and evolving, sometimes over time, other times seems too quickly.  Updating here: since joining I went from 3/4 time Realtor and 1/4 Land Based Dive store worker, then real estate tanked and went full at the dive shop, to chucking it all and moving to the US Virgin Island and somehow landing a gig as a caretaker at 2 high-end villas...first on St. John and than on St. Thomas. Now that is changing again as the first villa owner was a complete...well..., and the 2nd is shutting down operations so my wife and I became unemployed.

Spent a few days on the smaller of the 3 VI's and my wife and I got jobs and found a place to live. We already own a vehicle and we have a fridge full of food so life is good!  We will both be working at a Dive Shop. She doing books and some retail, I as a Divemaster, retail, and whatever else they need.

20 years ago I thought some day I'd like to live on a tropical island, work at a dive shop and just enjoy life in a simple way without all the hustle and bustle of the world.  Not too far off!

I spent 24 years in the restaurant business, starting when my dad bought several of them when I was a teen.  By 15 y/o I was cooking.  With no culinary education I was a chef by the age of 22.  I worked in the biz until 1997 when I burned out of the long hours and a need to be outside.

I spent 7 years as a Golf Starter at a local resort and club.  Great $, but really high stress.

As my user name implies, I am now a professional dog pooper scooper.  100% self employed, and loving it!  And I have an extended family of over 300 dogs.

I was in and on the news a couple times this year.

Center store manager for a grocery store in Florida ( up to my neck in food all day ).

That aside, like everyone else, love to cook, smoke, Q and invent recipes. Got my

hat in the ring for the next Master Chef Show. I'm not holding my breath though. Lots

of talented home cooks and semi pro's on that show...James

James, I hope you get on that show.  I like watching it.

I could have done it 15 years ago.  I am too simple in my ways now.  And lazy too.  Plus I like a few drinks when I cook.

See... I'm the first to get kicked off already.
