whats up from southwest michigan

  1. *stands up* Hi, I'm Jared and i love bbq, i'm an IT guy by day and a foodie when i'm not at work.  I love BBQ, and all things made outside on the coals.  I have been grilling for quite a while, and am just getting into BBQ.  I have an MES 40 smoker, and have an A-Maze-N 6x8 on the way to me.  

    I love to play with different new foods, and ways to prepare food.  It's my goal to be able to put caffiene in almost everything I do, and to be honest it's been going well, this super bowl I made Black Hole Chicken, I'm a bit of a Raiders Fan...if you can be a bit of a Raiders Fan ;)  Basically make beer can chicken but instead of a beer can use a monster, the citrus of the soda plays well with the flavor of the chicken.

    I've been lurking for about a month and decided I should say what's up. 

    Tomorrow I'm having a party and on the menu is Brisket, Black Hole Chicken and some smoked tuna and mahi mahi.  A buddy also gave me some venison to try smoking so I'll be trying that for the first time, I've read it smokes good, anyone have any tips on venison?

    i'll make sure i get some Q view for everyone.

    Unfortunately, I don't seem to be one of them since I am new to this also.

    I am the guy who don't give advice unless I am 100% positive of what I am talking about.
