Hello all,

I have been cruising this sight for about a month and decided to say thank you for so much information. I am fairly new to smoking, I recently purchased a propane brinkman smoke N grill off of craigslist for 40 bux and have had nothing but succes. I tried to post some Q-veiw but can't seem to figure it out any help would be awesome. Does anybody know if I added a water pan, it would help keep the temp down a little bit. (the smoker likes to run at 250 or so) or any other mods that will help the overall performance. Thanks for any and all info. This site rules

Welcome, Glad to have you with us. This is the place to learn, lots of good info and helpful friendly Members.

For Those of you New to Smoking, be sure to check out Jeff's 5 Day Smoking Basics eCourse.
Click Here it's "FREE"... 5 Day eCourse

Everyone here enjoys seeing the Qview so be sure to post plenty of pics... Large ones that us old people with bad eyes can see.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

Welcome to the SMF. The water pan adds moisture to the air in the smoker and helps to even out any hot or cold spots. I don't think the addition of a water pan will actually keep temps down.

I'm not familiar with the smoke n grill but I'm sure someone who does will be along with some tips.

Your smoker likes 250 so you have to teach it to like 230f

Welcome to the SMF, glad to have you with uis. A water pan will usually stabilize temps, but not really bring them down.

Welcome to SMF smoke it all. Something that I have learned on this site is that you could maybe do a modification where you could make a make-shift damper on the top of your unit. When I was using a Brinkman all in One, I would just shift the top lid off of the smoker a little bit to help control the heat, but usually that is only when I was using it with propane. Keep reading you will find your answer somewhere in the forums. Good luck and happy smoking.

Glad you found this site. Lots of good Info. here! You might want to do a Mod. such as a needle valve to get the temps. down. Just my 2 cents!
